Scale Your Enterprise Infrastructure with CloudFirst Global Solutions
CloudFirst Global provides high-performance managed cloud and infrastructure solutions for mid-market enterprises seeking personalized, engineering-led support.
Overview
CloudFirst Global, formerly known as Performive, is a leading provider of managed cloud, colocation, and data protection services specifically tailored for the mid-market. Following its rebranding, the company has intensified its focus on delivering high-performance infrastructure solutions that solve the "complexity gap" faced by growing enterprises. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, CloudFirst Global operates a robust global network of over 20 data centers across North America, Europe, and Asia.
The company’s service suite includes Managed Private Cloud, Public Cloud, Colocation, and a comprehensive array of Data Protection services, including Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS). CloudFirst Global serves a diverse range of industries, with particular strength in healthcare, finance, and legal sectors—industries that demand high levels of security, compliance, and uptime.
Historically, the company has evolved from a traditional hosting provider into a sophisticated cloud integrator. This evolution was driven by the recognition that mid-market companies are often underserved by hyperscalers like AWS or Azure, which provide the tools but lack the personalized engineering support required to optimize them. CloudFirst Global fills this void by providing the infrastructure of a global provider with the white-glove service of a regional partner. Their mission is to simplify the cloud journey for IT leaders, allowing them to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure maintenance.
Positioning
CloudFirst Global positions itself as the premier alternative to the "Mega-Clouds." Their strategic positioning is built on the premise that while AWS, Azure, and GCP are powerful, they are often too complex, too expensive, and too impersonal for the mid-market. CloudFirst Global’s messaging focuses on "Performance, People, and Purpose," highlighting their ability to deliver faster application performance and more reliable support than the hyperscalers.
Their target market consists of mid-sized enterprises that have outgrown simple hosting but lack the massive DevOps teams required to manage complex public cloud architectures. In their brand positioning, CloudFirst Global emphasizes transparency—specifically regarding pricing and performance. They differentiate from competitors by eliminating the "egress fee" anxiety and hidden costs associated with public clouds. By positioning themselves as a "Managed Cloud Company" rather than just a "Cloud Provider," they communicate a value proposition centered on partnership, proactive management, and technical partnership, successfully carving out a niche as the human-centric leader in a commoditized infrastructure market.
Differentiation
The CloudFirst Global product portfolio is engineered for performance-intensive workloads that require lower latency and higher reliability than standard public cloud offerings can provide. Their core differentiator is the CloudFirst Performance Cloud, built on top-tier hardware (such as VMware and NetApp) to ensure consistent IOPS and high availability. Unlike the "noisy neighbor" issues often found in hyperscale environments, CloudFirst provides predictable performance through dedicated resource allocation.
Key technical advantages include:
- Integrated Managed Services: Their products come with built-in management layers for backups, security, and disaster recovery (DRaaS), utilizing industry-leading tools like Veeam and Zerto.
- Global Footprint with Local Feel: They offer 20+ global data center locations, allowing for strategic edge computing and data sovereignty compliance while maintaining a unified management experience.
- Hybrid Flexibility: Their infrastructure is designed to bridge the gap between legacy on-premises systems and modern cloud environments, offering seamless connectivity and migration paths.
- Security-First Architecture: Every product is built with an inherent focus on compliance (HIPAA, PCI, SOC), providing mid-market firms with enterprise-level security without the overhead of managing it internally.
Ideal Customer Profile
The ideal customer for CloudFirst Global is a mid-market enterprise (100–2,000 employees) with a "cloud-smart" rather than "cloud-first" (hyperscale) mentality. They typically operate in regulated industries like Finance, Healthcare, or Professional Services. These companies usually have an internal IT team that is overstretched and needs a partner to act as an extension of their staff. They value predictable monthly billing over the complex, variable pricing of AWS or Azure and require high-performance VMware-based infrastructure to support mission-critical legacy or modern applications. Budget-wise, they are looking for high value in the $3,000 to $50,000 per month range for managed infrastructure services.
Best Fit
- Mid-Market Companies with Lean IT Teams: CloudFirst excels for organizations that need enterprise-grade infrastructure but lack a massive internal DevOps team to manage it 24/7.
- VMware-Heavy Environments: It is a premier choice for businesses looking to migrate or extend their on-premises VMware environments to a managed cloud without refactoring applications.
- High-Compliance Workloads: It is ideal for companies in finance, healthcare, or legal sectors that require strict data sovereignty and documented compliance (PCI, HIPAA) that generic hyperscalers often leave to the customer to manage.
- Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS): Choose this vendor when you need a turnkey DR solution with low RTO/RPO requirements and white-glove support during a failover event.
Offerings
- Managed Private Cloud: Dedicated compute and storage resources for maximum security and performance. Best for high-compliance workloads.
- Multi-Tenant Cloud: Cost-effective, scalable cloud resources sharing a high-performance backend. Ideal for development, testing, and standard production apps.
- Managed Disaster Recovery (DRaaS): Near-real-time replication with automated failover orchestration.
- Cloud Backup (BaaS): Offsite backup storage with managed retention policies and easy restoration.
- Bare Metal Servers: High-performance, non-virtualized servers for intense database workloads or custom hypervisor requirements.
- DevOps-as-a-Service: On-demand access to CloudFirst's engineering team for automation and optimization projects.
