dinCloud: Secure Cloud Desktops and Managed IT Services
dinCloud provides hosted virtual desktops, servers, and managed services for enterprises seeking secure, high-performance, and predictable flat-rate cloud workspaces.
Overview
dinCloud is a leading provider of cloud service orchestration and managed infrastructure, specializing in the delivery of hosted workspaces and cloud-based IT solutions. Founded to simplify the transition to the cloud for mid-market and enterprise organizations, dinCloud offers a comprehensive suite of services including Hosted Virtual Desktops (HVD), Hosted Virtual Servers, and cloud-based storage.
The company operates through a global network of secure data centers, providing a Virtual Private Data Center (VPDC) approach that ensures client data remains isolated and secure. dinCloud’s core value proposition centers on "Business Provisioning," a methodology that enables organizations to rapidly scale their IT resources in response to changing market demands without the capital expenditure associated with physical hardware.
Historically, dinCloud has built a strong market presence by catering to highly regulated industries such as healthcare, legal, finance, and education. These sectors demand rigorous compliance and security standards, which dinCloud meets through SOC 2 Type II compliance and robust data encryption protocols. Their service portfolio is designed to address the entire lifecycle of cloud adoption, from initial migration and architectural design to ongoing management and 24/7 technical support.
As part of the ATSG family of companies, dinCloud has expanded its reach and technical depth, leveraging a broader ecosystem of managed services to provide a holistic IT environment. Their focus remains on delivering a "turnkey" cloud experience that reduces the complexity of IT management while improving the end-user experience for remote and hybrid workforces.
Positioning
dinCloud positions itself as the "Premium Alternative" to hyperscale cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Their strategic messaging focuses on three core pillars: Predictability, Security, and Simplicity. While hyperscalers compete on the sheer breadth of their service catalogs, dinCloud differentiates by offering a curated, high-performance environment that is easier to manage and budget for.
The brand targets IT directors and CFOs who are frustrated by the hidden costs and management complexity of traditional cloud providers. By emphasizing "Flat-Rate Pricing," they position themselves as the fiscally responsible choice for growing enterprises. Their messaging often highlights the pitfalls of the "DIY Cloud," suggesting that while hyperscalers provide the "bricks," dinCloud provides the "finished house."
In terms of market segments, dinCloud specifically targets the mid-to-large enterprise space that requires high-security standards but lacks the massive internal DevOps teams required to manage complex cloud architectures. They position their "Virtual Private Data Center" as a more secure and private alternative to the public cloud, appealing to organizations where data sovereignty and regulatory compliance are non-negotiable. Compared to competitors like Citrix or VMware, dinCloud positions itself as a more integrated, service-oriented partner that handles the underlying infrastructure, not just the virtualization layer.
Differentiation
The primary differentiator of dinCloud’s product suite is the integration of security and performance within a unified digital workspace. Their flagship Hosted Virtual Desktop (HVD) and dinWorkspace solutions are built on a robust infrastructure that prioritizes low-latency user experiences, even for resource-intensive applications.
Key technical advantages include:
- Integrated Security Stack: Unlike vendors that treat security as an add-on, dinCloud integrates multiple layers of protection—including sophisticated firewalling, automated encryption, and malware protection—directly into the virtual desktop environment.
- dinManage Console: This proprietary cloud orchestration platform allows administrators to manage their entire virtual private data center via a single pane of glass. It provides granular control over provisioning, monitoring, and scaling without the complexity found in AWS or Azure consoles.
- Application Compatibility: Their environments are optimized for high-performance software, including CAD/CAM tools and specialized healthcare or legal applications, which often struggle in standard VDI environments.
- Hybrid Flexibility: dinCloud’s products are designed to bridge the gap between legacy on-premises systems and the cloud, offering seamless integration that allows for a gradual transition rather than a "rip and replace" strategy.
By focusing on a turnkey experience, dinCloud’s products eliminate the need for third-party virtualization licenses or complex configuration, providing a ready-to-use environment out of the box.
