Dizzion: High-Performance Managed Desktop as a Service (DaaS)
Dizzion provides high-performance Managed Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solutions for global enterprises, specializing in compliant, secure remote work environments.
Overview
Dizzion is a leading global provider of Managed Desktop as a Service (DaaS) and digital workspace solutions. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the company has evolved from a niche VDI provider into a dominant force in the end-user computing (EUC) market. Dizzion’s primary mission is to enable the "work from anywhere" economy by providing secure, high-performance virtual desktops that are accessible from any device.
The company serves a diverse range of industries, with a particular stronghold in highly regulated sectors such as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), healthcare, financial services, and insurance. Their service portfolio includes fully managed DaaS, hybrid cloud workspaces, and specialized compliance-as-a-service offerings.
In 2023, Dizzion significantly expanded its market presence and technical capabilities by merging with Frame (formerly a Nutanix business unit). This move combined Dizzion’s premier managed services and compliance expertise with Frame’s industry-leading, cloud-native orchestration platform. Today, Dizzion manages tens of thousands of users across the globe, leveraging a network of data centers and public cloud regions to ensure low-latency delivery. Their business focus remains centered on removing the complexity of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) for the enterprise, offering a turnkey solution that includes hardware, software, security, and 24/7/365 proactive management.
Positioning
Dizzion positions itself as the "Enterprise Alternative" to the complex, often fragmented VDI solutions offered by legacy players like VMware (Broadcom) and Citrix. Their strategic positioning is built on the concept of "Managed DaaS," targeting organizations that have outgrown the "do-it-yourself" complexity of traditional virtualization but require more security and performance than basic public cloud desktop offerings.
The brand's messaging focuses on three core pillars:
- Performance: Guaranteeing a "better than local" PC experience to ensure employee productivity.
- Security/Compliance: Positioning themselves as the only provider capable of delivering audited, compliant virtual desktops for mission-critical workloads.
- Simplicity: Emphasizing a "single pane of glass" management experience that abstracts the underlying cloud complexity.
In the competitive landscape, Dizzion differentiates by moving up-market. While competitors compete on price-per-seat for basic task workers, Dizzion targets high-value users and regulated industries where the cost of a data breach or downtime far outweighs the cost of the service. Their recent integration of Frame technology allows them to position themselves as a platform-agnostic leader, capable of orchestrating desktops across any infrastructure, which appeals to large enterprises looking to avoid vendor lock-in.
Differentiation
Dizzion’s product suite is defined by its "Any Cloud, Any Device, Anywhere" philosophy, underpinned by their proprietary C3 (Cosmos Control Center) management platform. While many competitors tie customers to a specific public cloud, Dizzion offers a multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud approach, allowing workloads to run on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Dizzion’s own high-performance private pods.
Key technical differentiators include:
- Managed Compliance: Dizzion offers the industry’s first "compliant-out-of-the-box" desktops, specifically engineered to meet PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2 Type II standards. They provide a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA), assuming a significant portion of the compliance risk.
- Frame Integration: Following the acquisition of the Frame platform from Nutanix, Dizzion offers a sophisticated, browser-based remoting protocol that delivers high-performance graphics and low-latency experiences without requiring local client software installation.
- zLink Hardware: For organizations requiring total endpoint control, Dizzion provides zLink devices—ultra-secure, small-form-factor endpoints that turn any monitor into a secure Dizzion workstation.
- Insights and Analytics: Their platform includes deep visibility into the "last mile" of connectivity, helping IT teams troubleshoot home internet issues and ISP performance, which are common blind spots in remote work environments.
These capabilities allow Dizzion to support high-performance use cases, such as 3D rendering and CAD, which traditional VDI often struggles to handle.
Ideal Customer Profile
The ideal Dizzion customer is a mid-to-large enterprise (500 to 10,000+ users) that operates in a regulated industry or manages a large distributed workforce. These organizations typically have a 'Cloud-First' strategy but lack the internal resources or desire to manage the day-to-day complexities of VDI (patching, scaling, hardware refreshes). They value security and compliance over the lowest possible price point. Key industries include Healthcare, Financial Services, Insurance, BPO, and Legal. The technical maturity of the customer can range from low (relying entirely on Dizzion's managed services) to high (using Dizzion's orchestration tools to augment their own IT operations).
Best Fit
- Global Remote Workforces: Dizzion is ideal for companies needing to deliver high-performance desktops to users in disparate geographic locations, especially where low latency is critical for productivity.
- Highly Regulated Industries: It excels in Healthcare (HIPAA), Finance (PCI-DSS), and Legal sectors where data cannot reside on local devices and must meet stringent compliance audits.
- BPO and Contact Centers: Specifically designed for the high-turnover, high-security needs of Business Process Outsourcers who need to provision and de-provision desktops rapidly for seasonal or contract staff.
- Legacy App Modernization: For organizations struggling to move legacy Windows applications to the cloud without a complete rewrite, Dizzion provides a stable, high-performance streaming environment.
Offerings
- Managed DaaS on Dizzion Infrastructure: A turn-key solution where Dizzion provides the hardware, software, and management in their own high-performance data centers.
- Managed DaaS on Public Cloud: Dizzion manages the desktop layer while the infrastructure resides in the customer's (or Dizzion's) AWS, Azure, or GCP tenant.
- Dizzion 'AnyCloud' Platform: A software-only or co-managed offering for organizations that want to use Dizzion's orchestration and 'Frame' technology to manage their own on-premises hardware.
- Compliance Packages: Add-on services that wrap the DaaS environment in specific audit-ready controls for PCI or HIPAA.
- GPU-Optimized Desktops: High-performance tiers specifically for AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Cloud users.
