Regal.ai: Drive More Revenue with High-Intent Sales Outreach
Regal.ai is an outbound sales platform that helps B2C brands drive revenue by automating personalized phone and SMS outreach to high-intent leads.
Overview
Regal.ai is a leading outbound sales platform designed specifically for high-growth B2C companies. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in New York, the company emerged to solve a critical gap in the market: while digital marketing can drive traffic, many brands struggle to convert high-intent leads who stall in the funnel. Regal.ai provides the infrastructure to engage these customers through personalized, automated, and branded phone and SMS outreach.
The platform serves organizations in sectors characterized by high-consideration transactions, including healthcare, financial services, insurance, education, and real estate. These are industries where a human conversation is often the deciding factor in a purchase. Regal.ai’s market presence has grown rapidly, as it enables companies to move away from legacy call center software toward a more proactive, data-driven sales approach.
The core of Regal’s offering is its ability to treat the phone as a performance marketing channel. By integrating with a company’s existing tech stack, Regal identifies "moments of intent"—such as a user starting an application or clicking on a specific pricing page—and triggers an immediate, branded outreach. This focus on "speed-to-lead" and "contextual outreach" helps brands significantly increase their conversion rates and return on ad spend (ROAS). As the regulatory environment for telemarketing becomes more complex, Regal also provides the necessary compliance and identity tools to ensure brands can reach their customers reliably and ethically.
Positioning
Regal.ai positions itself as the "Outbound Sales Platform for B2C," a strategic pivot away from the traditional Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) market. While legacy players like Genesys or Five9 focus heavily on inbound service and support efficiency, Regal focuses exclusively on revenue generation and proactive sales. Their messaging centers on the "death of the cold call" and the rise of "responsive outreach."
The brand positions itself against two primary competitors: legacy call center software and automated SMS/email marketing tools. Against legacy software, Regal highlights its modern, event-driven architecture and its ability to improve answer rates through branded identity. Against pure automation tools, Regal argues that for complex sales, "the human touch is the killer app," positioning their software as the bridge that connects high-intent digital signals to professional human sales agents.
Their target market consists of sophisticated B2C enterprises that have reached the limits of digital-only conversion. By framing the phone as a "performance channel," Regal speaks the language of CMOs and Heads of Growth, rather than just Call Center Managers. This strategic alignment with revenue goals rather than cost-savings allows Regal to command a premium position in the market as a growth engine rather than a utility.
Differentiation
The Regal.ai product suite is built on a sophisticated Event-Driven Journey Builder that allows brands to trigger outreach based on real-time customer behaviors rather than static lists. Unlike traditional dialers or CCaaS platforms designed for inbound support, Regal is purpose-built for outbound sales.
Key technical advantages include:
- Branded Caller ID: Through partnerships with major carriers, Regal ensures that calls show the brand’s name and logo, significantly increasing answer rates and reducing the likelihood of being flagged as spam.
- Unified Journey Orchestration: The platform intelligently sequences SMS and voice. If a customer abandons a cart, Regal can send a personalized SMS followed by a prompted call from a live agent only when the customer is most likely to engage.
- High-Performance Dialer: Their dialer is optimized for speed-to-lead, ensuring agents are connected to prospects within seconds of a high-intent action.
- Compliance-First Architecture: Built-in tools for TCPA and STIR/SHAKEN compliance ensure that high-volume outreach remains within regulatory bounds.
- Real-Time Data Integration: Regal integrates deeply with modern data stacks (Segment, Census, various CRMs) to ingest behavioral signals that inform exactly when and why a call should happen, moving beyond the "spray and pray" methodology of legacy systems.
Ideal Customer Profile
The ideal customer for Regal.ai is a B2C organization that relies on high-volume lead generation and human-assisted sales.
- Company Size: Mid-market to Enterprise (typically 50+ sales/outbound agents).
- Industries: Insurance, Fintech, Healthcare, Education, Home Services, and Real Estate.
- Technical Maturity: Companies that already use a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot) and have a dedicated marketing/growth team running paid ads.
- Lead Volume: Organizations generating at least 5,000+ new leads per month.
- Problem Profile: Companies seeing declining answer rates, high lead-to-call latency, or those struggling with "Scam Likely" labels on their outbound calls.
- Budget Range: Organizations with high Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) where a 10-20% lift in conversion justifies a premium software investment.
Best Fit
Regal.ai excels in high-velocity, high-consideration B2C sales environments where the speed of lead response is the primary driver of revenue.
- The 'Speed-to-Lead' Race: Best for companies that spend heavily on performance marketing (Google/Meta Ads) and need to contact leads within seconds of a form submission before they lose interest or go to a competitor.
- High-Volume Outbound Operations: Ideal for organizations currently struggling with low answer rates due to "Scam Likely" labeling; Regal’s branded caller ID and SMS-first approach significantly boost connection rates.
- Complex Consumer Sales: Perfect for industries like Insurance, Mortgage, Education, and Healthcare where a human conversation is necessary to close a deal, but the initial outreach needs to be automated and personalized.
- Replacing Legacy CCaaS: Choose Regal when traditional contact center software feels too 'reactive' and you need a 'proactive' system that triggers calls based on real-time website behavior rather than static lists.

Everything you need to evaluate Regal.ai — from features and pricing to implementation and security.
Introduction
Regal.ai is a leading "Outbound Sales Platform" designed specifically for B2C companies that need to drive more revenue from their online leads. Unlike traditional inbound-focused contact centers, Regal is built for proactive outreach. It combines a data-driven "Journey Builder" with branded SMS and voice capabilities to ensure sales teams reach prospects at the exact moment of highest intent.
In this guide, you will learn how Regal.ai moves beyond the limitations of legacy telephony by using real-time customer behavior to trigger personalized outreach. We will cover the platform’s core features—such as Branded Caller ID and SMS-first cadences—and evaluate its fit for high-growth industries like fintech, healthcare, and insurance. By the end of this guide, you will understand the technical requirements, pricing structures, and implementation steps necessary to transform your sales center from a cost center into a proactive revenue engine.
Key Features
Regal.ai provides a suite of tools designed to maximize contact rates and conversion:
- Real-Time Journey Builder: An intuitive drag-and-drop interface that allows managers to create automated outreach workflows based on customer behavior. For example, if a user spends 5 minutes on a pricing page, Regal can automatically trigger a personalized SMS followed by a call.
- Branded Caller ID: Increases answer rates by replacing "Unknown Caller" or "Scam Likely" with your company’s name and logo on the prospect's smartphone screen.
- SMS-First Outreach: Enables agents to send automated, personalized text messages before calling. This "warms up" the lead, establishing trust and significantly increasing the likelihood of the prospect picking up the phone.
- Unified Agent Desktop: A single interface where agents can manage calls, SMS, and see the full context of the customer's website behavior and history, eliminating the need to toggle between multiple tabs.
- Intelligent Dialer: A power dialer that prioritizes leads based on real-time activity rather than just the time the lead was created, ensuring agents are always talking to the most "active" prospects.
- Advanced Analytics & Attribution: Detailed reporting that links specific calls and texts to revenue outcomes, allowing teams to see exactly which journeys are driving the highest ROI.
Use Cases
- Fintech/Lending: A personal loan provider uses Regal to track users who start a loan application but drop off at the "Upload Documents" stage. Regal triggers an immediate SMS asking if they need help, followed by a call from an agent 2 minutes later. Result: 25% increase in application completion.
- Health Insurance: During Open Enrollment, a carrier uses Branded Caller ID to ensure their brand name appears on prospects' phones. This reduces "ignored" calls and helps the team reach 40% more leads during the critical 48-hour window after a quote request.
- Higher Education: A vocational school uses Regal's Journey Builder to automate the initial outreach to prospective students. By sending a personalized text to schedule a tour before calling, they see a 30% increase in "Show Rates" for campus visits.
- Home Services: A solar energy company integrates Regal with their Facebook Lead Ads. As soon as a lead is submitted, Regal's dialer connects an agent instantly while the prospect is still looking at the ad. Result: 2x increase in "Lead-to-Appointment" conversion.
Pricing Models
Regal.ai typically utilizes a value-based pricing model tailored to high-volume enterprise needs:
- Platform Subscription: A base monthly or annual fee that covers access to the Journey Builder, Analytics, and the Agent Desktop.
- Per-Seat/User Licensing: Tiered pricing based on the number of active sales agents using the platform.
- Usage-Based Costs: Telephony and SMS costs are typically billed based on volume (per minute/per message). This includes specific costs for Branded Caller ID services, which may vary by carrier.
- Implementation Fees: A one-time professional services fee is often required for initial setup, CRM integration, and journey design.
- Additional Costs: Buyers should account for 10DLC registration fees (for SMS compliance) and any premium support or dedicated account management tiers.
Note: Regal is positioned as a premium ROI-generating tool rather than a budget CCaaS, with pricing reflecting the expected lift in conversion rates.
Technical Requirements
To deploy Regal.ai effectively, the following technical environment is required:
- Web Browser: Optimized for modern browsers, specifically Google Chrome (latest versions). No local software installation is required for agents.
- Network/Bandwidth: High-speed internet with stable latency is critical for VoIP quality. Minimum 100kbps per concurrent agent call is recommended.
- Hardware: Standard modern workstations (PC/Mac) with high-quality USB or Bluetooth headsets.
- CRM/Data Source: A supported CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot) or the ability to send events via Segment or a REST API.
- Website Access: Ability to place a JavaScript pixel on your website or landing pages to track real-time intent signals.
- Firewall/Whitelisting: IT must be able to whitelist Regal’s IP ranges and domains to ensure uninterrupted voice and SMS traffic.
Business Requirements
To maximize the value of Regal.ai, organizations must meet several operational prerequisites:
- Lead Volume & Flow: A consistent stream of inbound leads is necessary. Regal is designed for high-velocity environments; low-volume boutique firms may not see the same ROI.
- Sales Process Maturity: You must have a defined sales script and a clear understanding of your lead lifecycle. Regal automates the 'when' and 'how' of contact, but your team must handle the 'what' of the conversation.
- Compliance Awareness: While Regal provides tools for compliance, your legal/operations team must be involved to ensure your SMS and calling cadences align with TCPA and local regulations.
- Dedicated Operations Lead: Successful implementations usually have a dedicated 'Sales Ops' or 'RevOps' person who can manage the journey builder and monitor performance analytics.
- Agent Readiness: Your sales team must be prepared for a higher volume of live conversations. Regal reduces 'dead air' and manual dialing, meaning agents will spend significantly more time actually talking to prospects.
Implementation Timeline
A typical Regal.ai implementation follows a 4 to 8-week path to full production, depending on integration complexity:
- Phase 1: Discovery & Strategy (Week 1): Defining lead journeys, mapping data fields from the CRM, and identifying key 'trigger' events (e.g., a lead abandons a mortgage application).
- Phase 2: Technical Setup & Integration (Weeks 2-3): Connecting the CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), installing the Regal pixel on the website, and configuring API webhooks for real-time data flow.
- Phase 3: Telephony & Compliance Setup (Weeks 3-4): Provisioning phone numbers, setting up Branded Caller ID (BCID), and configuring SMS templates for 10DLC compliance.
- Phase 4: Agent Training (Week 4): Training sales reps on the Regal agent desktop, managing tasks, and handling the transition from SMS to Voice.
- Phase 5: Go-Live & Optimization (Weeks 5-8): Launching initial journeys, monitoring conversion rates, and A/B testing different SMS-first cadences to refine the outreach strategy.
Support Options
Regal.ai provides tiered support levels designed to ensure platform uptime and campaign success:
- Standard Support: Includes access to a comprehensive knowledge base, email support, and ticket-based technical assistance during standard business hours.
- Premium/Enterprise Support: Often includes a dedicated Customer Success Manager (CSM) who assists with journey optimization, A/B testing strategy, and business reviews.
- Professional Services: Available for complex custom integrations, advanced data mapping, and large-scale migrations from legacy systems.
- Onboarding Program: A structured 30-60 day program that includes technical configuration, admin training, and "train-the-trainer" sessions for sales leads.
- Regal University: An online learning portal with video tutorials and documentation for agents and managers to stay updated on new feature releases.
Integration Requirements
Regal.ai is designed to sit at the center of your growth stack, requiring tight integration with your data sources:
- CRM Integrations: Native, bi-directional integrations are available for Salesforce and HubSpot. This ensures that any activity in Regal (calls, texts, dispositions) is instantly mirrored in your system of record.
- Data Events (The 'Regal Pixel'): A lightweight JavaScript snippet is placed on your web properties to track real-time user behavior (e.g., 'Clicked 'Get a Quote' but didn't finish').
- API & Webhooks: For custom-built stacks, Regal offers robust REST APIs to push lead data into the platform and webhooks to export event data to your data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Marketing Automation: Integration with platforms like Braze or Klaviyo allows for coordinated cross-channel messaging, ensuring a lead doesn't get a marketing email and a sales call at the exact same moment.
- Technical Standards: Supports modern authentication (OAuth), secure data transmission (TLS 1.2+), and standard JSON payloads for data exchange.
Security & Compliance
Regal.ai is built for enterprise-grade security and adheres to the strict regulatory requirements of the B2C sales industry:
- Compliance Certifications: SOC 2 Type II compliant, ensuring rigorous internal controls for data security and privacy.
- TCPA & TSR Support: Built-in tools to manage "Do Not Call" (DNC) lists, contact frequency caps (to prevent over-dialing), and time-of-day calling restrictions to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Data Privacy: Fully compliant with CCPA and GDPR. Regal provides features for data redaction and secure storage of PII (Personally Identifiable Information).
- HIPAA Compliance: For healthcare clients, Regal offers HIPAA-compliant configurations and is willing to sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs).
- Secure Telephony: Utilizes encrypted signaling and media for voice calls, and follows 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) requirements for verified and compliant SMS messaging.
- Access Control: Support for Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to manage agent access securely.
