Securus Communications: Managed IT Services and Cyber Security
Securus Communications provides managed network, security, and cloud solutions for UK enterprises, specializing in SD-WAN and SASE with a high-touch service model.
Overview
Securus Communications is a leading UK-based Managed Services Provider (MSP) specializing in the design, implementation, and management of business-critical network infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions. Founded with a vision to bridge the gap between complex enterprise technology and reliable service delivery, Securus has established a significant market presence as a specialist in wide-area networking (WAN) and cloud integration. The company serves a diverse range of mid-market and enterprise clients across the UK, with a particular stronghold in industries where data sovereignty, security, and high availability are paramount, including legal, finance, healthcare, and manufacturing.
At its core, Securus offers a comprehensive suite of services that includes Managed SD-WAN, SASE, Ethernet and Optical fiber connectivity, and sophisticated cybersecurity services such as Managed Firewall and Endpoint Protection. They also provide robust cloud-enabling technologies, helping organizations transition from legacy on-premise hardware to agile, cloud-centric architectures. Over its history, the company has evolved from a pure-play connectivity provider into a holistic security and network integrator. This evolution reflects the broader market shift toward the convergence of networking and security, positioning Securus as a strategic partner for digital transformation projects. Their operational excellence is backed by a UK-based Network Operations Centre (NOC) that provides 24/7 monitoring and support, ensuring that client infrastructures remain resilient against both technical failures and evolving cyber threats.
Positioning
Securus Communications positions itself as the 'Platinum Alternative' to the UK’s major national carriers. Their strategic positioning is built on the premise that while large telcos offer scale, they often lack the agility and personalized technical expertise required by modern IT departments. Securus occupies the mid-market and enterprise space, targeting organizations that have outgrown basic business broadband but find the bureaucratic nature of Tier 1 providers a hindrance to innovation.
Their messaging focuses heavily on the 'Secure by Design' mantra. In a market where many providers treat networking and security as separate silos, Securus differentiates itself by positioning these two disciplines as inseparable. Their brand is synonymous with reliability and technical depth, often using educational thought leadership to guide C-suite executives through the complexities of SASE and SD-WAN migrations. By emphasizing their UK-based engineering talent and their ability to provide end-to-end accountability—from the physical fiber in the ground to the firewall policy in the cloud—Securus effectively positions itself as a comprehensive, single-source partner for the entire digital estate. This 'one hand to shake' messaging resonates strongly with overstretched IT leaders looking to consolidate vendors without sacrificing technical excellence.
Differentiation
The Securus product portfolio is anchored by its sophisticated Managed SD-WAN and SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) offerings. Unlike providers who offer a single-vendor stack, Securus employs a best-of-breed technical strategy, integrating leading technologies from vendors like Fortinet and Cisco to create highly resilient, security-first network architectures. A key technical differentiator is their ability to deliver a truly converged 'Secure Networking' fabric, where security is not an overlay but is baked into the routing and transport layers of the WAN.
Furthermore, Securus offers a unique level of visibility through their managed service portals, providing clients with granular insights into application performance and security threats that often exceed standard ISP reporting. Their cloud connectivity solutions are designed for the hybrid era, offering low-latency, private on-ramps to major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) that bypass the volatile public internet. By combining carrier-grade infrastructure with enterprise-grade security tools, Securus provides a 'single pane of glass' management experience that simplifies the complexity of modern distributed networks, allowing IT teams to focus on strategic initiatives rather than circuit maintenance.
